Geomorphological reserves

There are 3 geomorphological reserves in Žemaitija National Park. Their total area is 294 ha / 726 ac.

Gardai geomorphological reserve was established in order to preserve the intact part of the Gardai esker with protected species and habitats. The area of ​​the reserve is 102 ha / 252 ac.

The aim of the protection of the Margupis geomorphological reserve is to preserve the particularly expressive system of the Margupis stream and its tributary valleys with characteristic slope biocenoses, protected species and habitats. The area of ​​the reserve is 94 ha / 232 ac.

Medsėdžiai geomorphological reserve was established in order to preserve the typical  plateau-like hilly landscape characteristic to the Plateliai  pool –  Medsėdžiai glaciolacutrine kame – together with the habitats of the protected insect species. The area of ​​the reserve is 98 ha / 242 ac.
