Lina Galminaitė-Blanchot lives in Plateliai town, Plungė district. She is a professional seamstress since 1999. Sewing is a hobby that has become her job. She started her activity in 2009, while still living abroad. After returning to Lithuania, she continues what she started: she sews everything that people ask for, but she likes sewing toys and especially dolls the most. She was very interested in their origin and sewing. All her works are made of natural materials – linen, cotton, some dolls are stuffed with wool, which Lina buys from a local sheep farm. She buys the wax from which she makes impregnated napkins for food packaging from a beekeeper living nearby. Lina’s sewn hearts and bags are stuffed with lavender grown by her, decorations and embellishments are made by herself or bought at flea markets. She recycles, makes something else whenever possible, to give them a new life.
